Clark Herrison "Harry" WEBB born on 14 MAR 1892 in Wisconsin.  He died on
1-26-1915 in Josephine County, Oregon (record #126) per the Oregon Death Index. He died in a mining accident.  No obituary can be found for him as the newspapers on microfilm don't start until late in the year of 1915.  His funeral record states that the funeral was held on January 28, 1915.  Family stories (Shared by Emma Evitt Lemm) state that the owner of the mine was upset with Harry or couldn't afford to pay his wages so he killed him.  He sprayed water on him while Harry was in the mine and the mine collapse on him.   The buttons on his clothes fell off and his hat was found down by the stream.  The man who was Clarks boss at the mine that killed him was already in trouble in California for other things. When he came to kill Clark Harrison Webb, he tied his horse to a tree.  The horse was still there when Clark was found dead.

Emma said that Clark Harrison was a very quiet and peaceful man.  The morning that he went to work, Clark told John Evitt that he was "getting paid today and I know the reason why...."  something like that.  John shared his fear with Clark that he wanted him to be careful as he didn't trust the boss.  Clark shared with John, not to worry as he wasn't going to fight him or anything like that.  He was just looking forward to his paycheck.  The boss had money problems and knew if he killed Clark, he wouldn't have to pay him.
