Same Old, Same Old
Home
1. New York Yankees
The Yankees main objective over the winter was to improve their starting pitching. They did that by signing both Carl Pavano and Jaret Wright to multi-year contracts. Also, The Evil Empire traded Javier Vazquez to the Diamondbacks for Randy Johnson. The Yankees have the best pitching staff in the MLB and their lineup is the same hard hitting group of all-stars as last season.
2. Boston Red Sox
The World Champions will try to defend their championship with an all new pitching staff. Pedro Martinez left to be a New York Met and Derek Lowe joined the Los Angeles Dodgers. Matt Clement, David Wells and Wade Miller will try to replace Martinez and Lowe in the rotation. Edgar Renteria is replacing Orlando Cabrera at shortstop but other than that, The World Champs have the same team that took home the trophy last season.

THE REST
The Baltimore Orioles still don't have a frontline starting pitcher but the addition of Sammy Sosa will make them more of a contender. The Blue Jays faltered last season because of injuries and the loss of Carlos Delgado will hurt. Adding Corey Koskie and Shea Hillenbrand will help Toronto. The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are destined to stay in the cellar. They don't have any starting pitching and their best offensive player is Aubrey Huff.
This division belongs to the Sox and the Yanks. They will battle it out this year and for many years to come. The only way that the Orioles could finish at the top is if they could get an elite starting pitcher at the Trade Deadline.
