Nothing New Here

1. Atlanta Braves
The Braves have won the NL East 14 years in a row and this year, that streak will not be broken. The Braves traded for ace Tim Hudson and moved John Smoltz from the bullpen to the starting rotation and also added Closer Dan Kolb to finish games. The Braves still have a great infield led by Chipper Jones, Rafael Furcal and Marcus Giles. The only question mark for the Braves will be their outfield.
2. Florida Marlins
The Marlins just missed the playoffs last year and the addition of Carlos Delgado at first base will be huge for the Fish. At the other cornerm infield position, 3rd Baseman Mike Lowell is consistently good and in the outfield, Miguel Cabrera is a threat for the NL MVP. The Marlins can make a run at the division if their pitching is up to the task.

THE REST
The New York Mets added starting pitcher Pedro Martinez and Centerfielder Carlos Beltran to improve their rotation and outfield respectively. The rest of their rotation is iffy and it will be a challenge for the Mets to be in contention for the Wild Card. The Philadelphia Phillies have a great lineup but their starting rotation is a question. The Phils need help in the starting rotation - and a lot of it - if they hope to win the Wild Card. Like their alter ego, the Montreal Expos, the Washington Nationals don't have a prayer. They need help in the rotation, the infield and the outfield. Washington will not be a good city for baseball this year.
