The person being tested should close their eyes and march in place 2 or 3 steps. The eyes should remain closed and the person should nod the head 2 to 3 times as if looking at the floor and then the ceiling, stopping where they feel comfortable. Examine the posture. From the front look at the bridge ot the nose, the middle of the upper lip, the center of the chin, the notch at the base of the neck, the midpoint between the breasts, the belt buckle, the top angle of the crotch (where the legs meet) and the point midway betwwen the two feet. All of these points should line up. If not schedule a chiropractic appointment today. Perform the above stepping and head bobbing procedure again and check the posture from the side. Look at the ear hole, the point of the shoulder, the middle of the hip and the bone on the side of the ankle. If the above points do not line up Schedule an appointment for further evaluation with Dr. Weimer. Look for a low shoulder on one side. This is an indicator of spinal or muscular inbalance. A head that is leaning forward or jutting out in front of the body is a common indicator of spinal stress andleads to spinal wear and tear and degenerative changes. Have someone check for uneven leg length when the examinee is lying face down on the bed with the feet hanging off the edge. Uneven leg length is a sign of spinal imbalance and its cause should be evaluated. Examine a pair of shoes for signs of unusual or uneven wear. If unusual wear is found then spinal stress may be indicated Look for an uneven skirt hemline or unequal pant leg length. These can indicate a low hip or other spinal problem
