The sun rose that morning as it did most days; it was bright and twinkling in the perfectly blue sky. Gray blinked a few times to get his eyes accustomed to the light again, then he opened his eyes as he squeezed Silver's paw. She didn't wake up just yet, but she involuntarily squeezed his paw gently in return.
Gray laid still for a few moments more as he watched Silver sleep. His heart was full again after releasing his fears the previous night; he could feel it with each breath he took in. His chest swelled more and more as he watched her. The courage he once had was built again, and he was finally ready to tell her how he felt after these many months as friends.
Gray raised his head so that he could speak into Silver's ear. After a deep breath, he spoke softly to her, "Silver, I love you."
Silver opened her eyes as she squeezed his paw. "Mm... argh," she yawned as Gray laughed quietly and smiled at her.
"You are so cute," he said. She smiled happily and sleepily in return.
After blinking a few times to get her sleep out, she caressed his paw again and moved her head to look into his eyes. She paused a moment, then smiled back at him. "I love you too, Twilight." He smiled happily at her, then wrapped his other paw around her neck and held her in the golden sunrise. |
