June 25 WE FINISHED THE TRAILER OF "WELCOME HOME"!!!! June 26 Today we filmed 1 more scene and a pick up shot. The scene we filmed is where the trailer trash of the movie gets killed. It's kinda sick as to what Jay does to her after he kills her, but this poor guy has gone insane... or has he? Hmmm... We are close to finishing this movie. You guys are going to have to just watch how it all plays out. Thanks Sandy for the great meatballs. And to Scott.. for the hamburgers. June 27 Wow! We filmed a whole bunch of scenes today. We knocked out the scenes with the Manager, the Casting Director, and the front office scenes. We had so much fun filming these scenes. Steve, who plays the Manager, threw in a few of his own lines that he thought that the Manager would say and it was hilarious. We had to retake a few times because every time he delivered the lines, I just busted out laughing. Sorry Steve! And then the scenes with Actor 1 was just belly aching funny. You guys are in for a treat when you watach these scenes. Great stuff! Great stuff!! Well, we only have 4 more main scenes left. We're so excited! Soon it will be party time! |
June 28 OK. We were supposed to film a flashback scene this evening, but due to a family birthday (which we forgot), we had to reschedule it. We'll be filming it next week. Sorry Mom! June 29 Drove to Pennsylvania to check out a location for this Saturday's shoot. There definitely is a place... absolutely beautiful. But what a drive!!! We'll see. We are still looking around. This has to be perfect since it is the final scene in the movie. We did, however, secure our actor Dino. He'll be coming in from Richmond, VA this Saturday. Talk about dedication! Thanks Dino. We look forward to working with you this weekend. It'll be fun! July 2 We were supposed to film a flashback scene and a fire scene this evening, but the actors in the scene were feeling ill so we postponed filming unti next week. Normally, we would be bummed out, but we are just overly joyed because the weather for tomorrow calls for pure sunshine. YES!!! All our scenes tomorrow are outdoors. Thank you dear Lord for blessing us! July 3 We filmed the very ending of the movie today. It is going to be incredible! I can't really say what we filmed because then I would give away the ending and would ruin it for all of you. So just know, we are so happy with the way filming turned out. Although it took longer to film it because of mechanical difficulties, the actor on the set was great! He was so patient. And hey, don't forget...! This guy, Dino, drove all the way from Richmond to film these scenes. That's about 2 1/2 hours drive! Thanks Dino! We NEVER could have finished this film without you! You're the greatest! July 4 Even though we wanted to film today, we also know how to relax. So everyone! Hope your 4th was a good and safe one! Happy Birthday America! July 6 We had to move filming from this Saturday to this Sunday. We will be filming our pick up shots on Friday, late in the evening. Unsure how long it will run. We figured better to be safe and push it to Sunday. Plus, this Saturday, the lead needs to go into a physical transformation. What? You all will just have to watch the movie to see. July 8 We are a little worried. We have heard from all of our actors for this weekend except 1. We have e-mailed and left messages but no word from him. Either way, we still have to film these scenes this weekend. If he fails to show up, we have a back-up in mind already. He'll just have to lose his scenes and another actor will profit from it. By changing the character in the movie, we are hoping it won't change the story too much. We really don't think it will be noticeable, but it may make the audience do a double take as to what the heck is going on... if we use another character instead of the one we have intended. Keep your fingers crossed. We'll try to contact him again tomorrow. Gee, I'm starting to feel like a creditor constantly calling and bugging people. Hey! Wait a minute! How do I know what that's like? Disregard the last statement. :-) July 9 WOW! We finally got a confirmation call from our last actor today at 9pm. Talk about last minute. But it's all good. We did have the back up plan, but we are so incredibly happy that he still will be part of the movie. July 11 What a bloody day! OK, OK. So I gave you a hint of what happened today. All you know is that someone or something got killed today... but let me tell you there was blood everywhere. The set-up for the scene took a while that one of our actors had to receive a massage afterwards to get the kink out of the position he was in. Thanks so much to Steve Kovalic for letting us use his place and getting blood everywhere. However, we did one hell of a job with the clean up. No blood in sight. Thanks to our actors Ursual and Shannon for a job well done. It wasn't easy, but everything looked great. OH! When you run into us during the premier... ask any of us who Chief Tuck-a-nut is. It's a funny story that produced a nickname that will probably be never lived down. July 13 We just found out that an actor we had set to film this Sunday got called in to work and can now not make it to filming. Uh-oh! We need to find a replacement... fast! We also haven't heard any confirmation as to if we can film at the location we had planned it at. The stress!!!! July 15 INCREDIBLE NEWS!!! We found the PERFECT replacement. It's the one and only, incredibly well known, our very own..... BRIAN DRAGONUK! Yay! I can't wait to see him. He is such a great blessing to the entire acting community. We are so honored that he is going to be a part of our film. Also, we received confirmation that we can use the location this Sunday... our final film day. YAY!!! July 18 Our very last day of filming. Although a part of us is glad it is finished, a part of us is also sad that it's going to be done. *sniff* *sniff* Anyway, we filmed our very last scenes today. It was incredibly fun in that Director Jimmy Traynor was inspired to do some extra scenes - all last minute and improv (his usual typical style). The extra scenes he added will work. It'll look good. OH! For those of you wondering about Brian... He looked fantastic!!! His spirits are still high and he is just as huggable ever.... like a teddy bear. I had asked him how he was feeling while hugging him and he replied "with his hands". What a naughty boy! He's still got it. Well, after the scenes of "Welcome Home" was completed, there were a few actors left over, hanging around. Again, Jimmy had an inspiring skit that he wanted to quickly film. So we did. Only took a few takes and runs only about a minute. However, it is so funny! He's thinking of adding it to the very end of the movie after all the credits are done. So the only people that will really see it are those crazy folks that love to stay and read the whole credits or those who have read this diary. We thought we'd give you a little fun treat at the end. But it's not sure we'll be adding it yet because we have a problem with 1 of the actor's shirt... it's logoed - since this was a last minute idea. We'll see if we can cover it up. Anywhoo....FILMING OF WELCOME HOME IS COMPLETE!! We now go into post production. |
