He was the 400th person
to hold the office since the first recorded
mayor (William Leveric) in 1209.
Rawson Street was named in his honour
to the memory of

Who died April 28 1889 aged 84 years.
Thomas Rose, who lived in Albion Street, was the Corporation messenger.
