OK. This isn't the most fun thing the Ventures and Rovers do, but it's good community service, good also for the environment, helps keep our community clean and it gets the Scouting name out. Our group  has adopted a segment of highly traveled roads running through Welland. We have the chance to pick up litter along our stretch of road four times a year, and in return, our adopt a road sponsor gets signs at both ends of our segment and we get the pride for keeping things the way our Adopt A Road sponsor likes. We also get alot of appreciation from the community. With a good turnout we can be done in under an hour.

The 9th Welland Venturers and the 9th Welland Rovers maintain the following area. Thorold road from Kays Variety to the corner of Thorold Rd and Aqueduct rd. From in front of Copy Center on Niagara St. to the corner of Niagara St and Merritt Rd. Merritt Rd to the intersection of Merritt Rd and hyw. 406 in the community of Welland.

We have an Adopt A Road  partnership with the North Welland Business Improvement Association.

They are the registered group for it, but we look after it for them.

This program is administered by the Niagara Region.
