Homeopathy We want these pages to document the experiences of women with vulvodynia and if you would like to submit some writing to this page, please email us. Please note that the information provided has not been verified by a doctor so always check it out first! Homeopathy is an holistic medicine. This means that it focuses on the whole person and believes that spiritual, mental, emotional and physical factors are all completely inter-connected and should not be regarded in isolation. It is based on the idea that symptoms are not the cause of disease, they merely show that "dis-ease" exists. Symptoms are the body's way of warning us that all is not well and attempting to restore balance. Homeopathic remedies are made from naturally occurring plant, animal, or mineral substances. Using the principle that like can be cured with like, homeopathy has taken a wide range of natural substances and carefully recorded the symptoms these substances cause in healthy people. Matching these substances as closely as possible, to the individual and the particular symptoms that they are experiencing encourages their own healing energy to return them to health. Homeopathy is used to treat acute and chronic health problems as well as for disease prevention and health promotion. Jo, age 26 My experience with homoeopathy has encouraged me to study it further, although I did need patience for it. I tried many different remedies’s (some which gave me a brief libido which I made the most of!) all of which addressed a different part of me. Since using homoeopathy I know that I laugh out loud more than I used to, relax more and worry less about what others think. I also speak my mind more often, which is really quite a release. Physically I have had no miracle cure with homoeopathy, although the remedy I have most responded to is an anxiety based one which has helped me put things into perspective a bit. I have a strong belief that homoeopathy works, when it doesn’t, you haven’t discovered the right remedy. Sandra Homeopathy has been the only treatment that has had any true positive effect on my candida, vestibulitis and cystitis. I discovered homeopathy by chance when researching in the library 10 years ago to find out why I had constant cystitis. I found out about candida and went to a very good naturopath John Carter in Auckland who cured me. It is not a quick fix though, it does take time. Then three years ago I had a return of all my symptoms but this time their seemed to be no candida. Many of the treatments the doctors prescribed for my cystits and vestibulitis actually made my condition worse. I am now seeing Mr. Tizard in Milford and he was able to get me off all medication within two weeks and I haven't been to the doctor in 9 months. However I am not totally symptom free yet, but believe I will be in time. I am very susceptible to spray poisoning which makes my symptoms flare up but each month I get a little bit better. |
