My Wish for You
I wish you could see what I see With those big gloomy eyes of yours. So full of experience they shouldn’t need to know; So rich in kindness that gets bruised.
I wish you could hear what I hear With your battered ears. The comfort that escapes your lips, Promises made and kept.
I wish you could know what I know; What I have always known; A heart of gold needs no keys to unlock its treasure, It is priceless on its own.
Why no one else can live my vision; I will not understand. Let them suffer, For they will never know what I know every night,
As I lie in bed, in my husband’s arms, And we pray for your safety and serenity;
Then I know that He will bring you what you require, But only in His time.
He will give you all the love that you have always given, Even to the undeserving and in the mean time;
Lean on our friendship - Drain my strength - See with my eyes- Know my love.
