chapter four
The next day both Bryan and Lin lay in their separate beds wondering what happened last night. They both had strong feeling for each other that they kept a secret. Should they take a risk or just leave things the way they are? Lin's thoughts were disturbed by Nicky singing while walking along the hall, and Shane shouting at him to be quiet.
Finally Lin and Bryan got out of bed and they literally crashed into each other outside their rooms.
"Oh I'm so sorry." Said Bryan while helping Lin off the floor. All of a sudden they were face to face again, they both felt those feelings rise up and Lin hoped Bryan would kiss her. But Bryan pulled away disgusted with himself for thinking that she would ever think of him as more than a friend, and ever love him as much as he loved her.
As Lin was washing her hair she heard Bryan and Nicky fighting down stairs. She quickly dried her hair best she could with the towel and went running down stairs, only to find Shane pulling Bryan away from Nicky.
"What the hell is going on?"
"Lin just stay out of this, it's between me and Bryan."
"Nicky just calm down man, Bryan didn't mean anything by it." Shane said trying his best to keep the peace.
"Oh I sure did Shane, he has the gayest hair I've ever seen." Replied Bryan laughing.
"U shit." And with that Nicky swung at Bryan. Shane quickly pulled Nix away and tried to settle him down.
"Bryan what the hell do u think you're doing, u know Nix's sensitive about his hair."
"So? He's a pain in the butt."
"Oh really, you've never said this before and we've been friends since like forever." Said Lin shouting at Bryan.
"Yeah well maybe I don't wanna be friends any more." Lin couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Oh listen I didn't mean that I'm sorry. U know I love u and Nix more than anything in this world, it's just that sometimes I... I... oh I don't know. I'd better apologize to Nix." Lin just couldn't understand what was wrong with him, she just wished he'd confide in her like he always used to.
All of a sudden Shane came out of the kitchen and told Lin to come quickly. Obviously she went running to the kitchen and found Bryan huddled over the sink. And Nicky comforting him.
"Hey what's going on?" When Bryan turned round she nearly died.
"What the hell did he do to u?" She asked Bryan.
"Me? I didn't do anything!" Exclaimed Nicky.
"I came in to apologize to Nix and he didn't know I was there and he shut the door, right in my face."
Bryan's eye was bleeding and starting to swell.
"I'll go and get the first aid kit." Replied Lin. Coming back to the kitchen with the kit she found Bryan at the table.
"Where did Nix and Shay go?"
"I asked them to give us some time alone, u know we don't see much of each other these days do we?" Asked Bryan.
"Nope, I was beginning to think u weren't speaking to me or something."
Bryan just smiled and said "Never."
"Ok I'm gonna put some antiseptic stuff on ok, it's gonna sting mind."
"Yeah ok just get it over with."
While applying the antiseptic Bryan grabbed her hand and stood up. Lin had no idea what was going on and spilt the antiseptic all over the floor. While cleaning it up she and Bryan bumped heads and started laughing.
Knowing this was his only chance Bryan reached over and kissed Lin. It was some minutes before Lin pulled away,
"Bryan I..."
"Shhhh" and he leaned in to kiss her again.
"NO. this is wrong." And with that she abruptly stood up. And regretted this straight away.
This time she saw the hurt look on Bryan's face before he ran out of the house. It was as if some one had punched her in the stomach and it was at this moment that Lin realized she'd just made a huge mistake.
