Margaret Rackley I was born in Ipswich, but I have always loved the country life and as a child spent many holidays with my Grandparents at Harrisville. My Grandfather was a butcher and my uncle an Auctioneer. I loved horses and would ride whenever possible eventually buying some land at One Mile Creek where I kept horses and cattle. We later moved to a larger place at Swanbank when the children became interested in the Pony Club and Trail Riding. It was at this time I started taking an interest in Traditional Country Music, which seemed to fit in well with our lifestyle. I learnt to sing and play piano in my early years.

We moved to Borallon and I started doing a few guest spots with Noel Williams and his travelling Country Band and other artists. Unfortunately, a serious riding accident caused me to hang up my bridle and saddle for good and so I started to concentrate on singing and songwriting.

My husband Neil and I became regular visitors of the Gympie Muster and then went to Tamworth for the first time in 1993 and subsequently joined The Australian Bush Balladeers Association. I also started entertaining at the local Nursing Homes and Respite facilities, and still derive much pleasure from singing and playing keyboard at these places. We have also visited the Lake Cooroibah Jamboree many times and for the last 4 years the Boondooma Open Day.

I am sure my lifetime of travelling over the years have helped me with my songwriting and I would like to thank the many performers and friends for their encouragement and advise over the years which helps me playing and singing country music - something I enjoy very much.

A big thankyou to the presenters of 101FM Radio Logan and 4DDB 102.7 Toowoomba for playing my recordings on air and also the West Moreton Country Music Assn in Ipswich and Country Music Heritage Assn at Grandchester where I often perform at their socials and am proud to be associated with such fine clubs.
