Where the Birds Always Sing |
I am often asked why I have pages keeping the memory of a man many felt hatred for. A man who was said to be an anti-semite and a racist. I don't believe Timothy McvVeigh was anti-semitic or a racist. I don't believe he was a militia member, not a member of Christian Identity, nor a White Supremacist. I never believed a word of it and still don't. I can form my own opinions. What is true about him is, he was a human with a soul, and he was executed. Something that should never happen to anyone. I've seen other Timothy McVeigh pages that are angry, full of hatred, full of hostility, or pages of people claiming to have forged a romantic relationship with Timothy McVeigh. Freedom of speech allows for all kinds of pages. But it made me weary reading about that anger, there has been too much anger and not enough understanding of the man. I just wanted to put up pages showing how Timothy McVeigh was a ordinary person, a good person. A man from a good family. I wanted pages that would try to show how wrong it is for us to continue this whole execution process. It solves nothing. Tim McVeigh was never portrayed as he probably really was. Tim was brought to our attention in the "orange pictures". Timothy McVeigh was an ordinary man who probably had hopes and dreams like any of us. Like any of us he probably wanted love, to give love to someone and get love in return. Timothy McVeigh was a person. There is too much hate and anger in the world. It takes alot of energy to be hateful. I was angry and upset for a long time about June 11, 2001. I'm still so disturbed by the whole thing. It makes me very sad. But I finally realized, being so angry like the execution itself, solves nothing. I just can't be a part of the " Timothy McVeigh got what he deserved " brigade. He deserved more than he received, like a new trial. And his family deserved peace at he time of his death. But there were those who couldn't wait to see this man die. But he was afterall, an ordinary human, like any of us. I say to the people who were glad to see Timothy McVeigh die and all the others before him and after him...... "You should pray that your child or family member never gets into trouble like Tim did. Pray, because the McVeigh's never thought it would ever happen to their child and brother. It could happen to any of us." |
