| 3/9/05 - Whispering Willow Acres proudly welcomes our newest arrival: P Nelli - The Yorkshire-x piggy She's around 5-6 months old ...weighing in at 110lbs - She belongs to my oldest daughter Jeni, who has plans to breed her and sell a few of the offspring... And hopefully show P Nelli through 4-H in the county fair in October.. |

| March 13, 2005 Our only Saanen, Christmas Carol delivered a single buck (He is HUGE) He's solid white & has been given the name: Romeo This was Carol's first freshening...so we will be leaving him with her until he's sold She's a great mother & her udder is perfect!! What more can you ask for?? Sire is our 2 yr old fullblood boer : YANKEE |
| March 16, 2005 We bought 3 new pigs...all gilts.. The biggest one is around 5-6 months old (110#) She's a Landrace Yorkshire & has been named Eeore (SOLD) The smallest 2 are Yorkshire/Duroc mix & about 9-10 weeks old.. One is solid white the other is red with a white stripe...very cute piggies. Jeni has named the tiny white one Piglit & the red/white one is Rednek <----They were added in with P Nelli and all get along very well.. Jeni's happy ;O) ~All are being fed swine grower and goat's milk with a little cracked corn thrown in the trough every now and then~ |

| March 12, 2005 We hatched out our first duck! My neice Trinity babied the duck egg (she found while fishing) until she could get it into my incubator..35 days later - here it is...we think it may be a Muscovy and Trinity has named it Waddles! Waddles will be living in with the 25 chicks that I hatched out.. Until the weather warms up, they will be living in a rabbit cage in our living room...(we do this every year ;O)..) |

Born on March 28th & has been given the name Shady Vale RS Cherokee We expect great things out of this lil guy in the coming year! All I can say is awwww... |

| 7/11/05 Well another surprise here on the farm...one of my hens from last years hatch...hatched out 9 baby chicks...we only found 9...and only found them when the hen started making all kinds of noise at 6am...trying to protect them from the ducks...never knew ducks would eat baby chicks...go figure! They will all be given away as soon as they're old enough...cuz I sure don't need anymore chicks..(hatched out 39 + this year..lost count after that) Click on pic to enlarge |
