(Liz, Alexa, and Howie come back into the room carrying trays of food and drinks)
Howie: We have chips. We have soda. We have muffins. We have coffee.
Alexa: Who wants what?
Sandra: I’ll have a soda.
Liz: (goes over to Sandra and hands her a soda) (to Matt) Thanks for staying here with my sister.
Matt: It’s nothing really. (Grabs a muffin from the tray)
Alexa: (walks over to Brian and Kevin) You guys want something?
Kevin: No.
Brian: Kevin you should really eat something. You have to keep your strength up.
Kevin: I’m not hungry.
Alexa: Please Kevin.
Kevin: Fine. (Grabs something off the tray) Happy?
Alexa: Yes.
Howie: (walks up to Matt and Sandra) You must be Matt. Hi I’m Howie. (They shake hands)
Matt: Nice to meet you.
Howie: Do you mind if I steal Sandra away for a second?
Matt: No not at all.
Howie: (hands the tray of food and stuff to Matt. Sandra stands up and walk outside the waiting room with Howie) It was nice of him to stay with you.
Sandra: Yeah. He feels bad that he can’t help.
Howie: I think we all feel that way.
Sandra: So…what did you want to talk about?
Howie: I’m sorry for what I did to you awhile back. I never meant to hurt you.
Sandra: Well you did and I guess you’re forgiven.
Howie: Thanks…I think. Can we still be friends?
Sandra: I don’t know Howie.
Howie: I miss talking to you. We can’t keep avoiding each other my best friend is married to your sister.
Sandra: (thinks for a few minutes) I guess you’re right.
Howie: So…are we friends again?
Sandra: It’s going to take me awhile before I can trust you again…but…sure.
Howie: Great. (They shake hands)
(Just then the doctor from earlier walks into the waiting room)
Sandra: We should go back in.
Howie: Let’s go. (They walk back into the waiting room)
Doctor: Are you Kayla Rodgers parents?
Carol: Yes.
Doctor: (walks over and shakes hands with Charlie) I’m Doctor Miller, we spoke earlier.
Kevin: (gets up and walks over to the doctor) How is she Doctor?
Doctor: She’s out of surgery. She’s now in the ICU. She sustained massive injuries to her liver and kidney’s. We’ve fixed as much as we can. We stopped the bleeding and she’s stable.
Carol: Can we see her?
Doctor: I don’t want too many people in there, but you and your husband can go to see her now if you like.
Carol: What about her fiancé?
Doctor: He can go in after you.
Charlie: Thank you doctor.
Doctor: The nurse at the counter will show you to her room.
Carol: Thank you. (They both leave to go to see Kayla. Kevin waits for them to come back)
Alexa: Excuse me Doctor Miller?
Doctor: Yes ma’am.
Alexa: Do you know anything about Elena Parks?
Doctor: I didn’t take care of her, but I know that she is in ICU.
Nick: (walks over to the doctor) Is she going to be ok?
Doctor: Like I said I didn’t take care of her, but I will try and find the doctor who did.
Alexa: Thank you doctor.
Doctor: If you need anything else, just have the nurses page me. (He leaves)
