(The four of them go to visit Kayla…Charlie explains to Kevin that she does want to see him…just saving the best for last. Fifteen minutes later the four of them return and then Brian, Alexa, and Nick go into see Kayla.)
Alexa: (walks over to Kayla and grabs her hand) How are you babe?
Kayla: Ehhh…I don’t think I’ll be running laps any time soon.
Brian: We are glad to see you up and talking.
Nick: Do you remember anything?
Kayla: For the love of Quincy…don’t you people communicate. I only remember picking up gum. That’s it…no more…no less.
Alexa: Sorry Kay.
Kayla: That’s all right. I forgive you. So…(looks around) where’s Elena?
Nick: You don’t know?
Kayla: Know what?
Brian: (Alexa starts to cry and Nick just turns away) She was with you Kayla. She got shot too.
Kayla: Oh. I’d cry but it hurts.
Alexa: It’s ok Kayla.
Kayla: Is she all right?
Nick: We don’t know. No one will talk to us.
Dr. Miller: (walks in the room) Mr. Carter?
Nick: (turns around to face the doctor) That’s me.
Dr. Miller: I’ve found out information about Ms. Parks.
Alexa: What did you find out doctor?
Kayla: Is she ok?
Dr. Miller: She was shot in the leg and lost a lot of blood. They took her into surgery to repair the damage.
Brian: Why did she lose so much blood?
Dr. Miller: The femoral artery was hit. It’s been repaired though.
Nick: Can I see her?
Dr. Miller: Yes. She was asking for you.
Nick: Thank you doctor.
Dr. Miller: No problem. (He leaves)
Nick: Kay…can I…
Kayla: Get out of here you bum!
Nick: Thanks Kayla. (Leaves to go see Elena)
Alexa: You want to see Kevin now?
Kayla: (sighs) If I have too.
Brian: (laughs) I’ll go get him. (Brian leaves and returns with Kevin)
Alexa: We’ll leave you two alone. (Brian and Alexa leave)
Kayla: Hey you.
Kevin: (walks in and sits next to her bed and takes her hand) Hi.
(Meanwhile, Nick desperately searches for Elena)
Nick: (walks up to a nurse) Excuse me, can you tell me where Elena Parks’ room is?
Elena: (hears Nick’s voice) Nick?
Nick: Elena?
Elena: I’m over here.
Nick: (walks over to the nearest room and sees Elena lying in the bed connected to a bunch of machines) Hi.
Elena: Hi.
Nick: (kisses her forehead, sits down next to the bed, and grabs her hand) How…how are you?
Elena: Ummm…there’s this pain in my leg…
Nick: Funny.
Elena: I thought so. I’m all right. How’s Kayla?
