Information on club:

The Club competes in the Seandun Division, or as it is also known the City Division, of the Cork County Board. In Cork, there are eight divisions in all, with the City Division not surprisingly containing the greatest number of Clubs.

The Club draws its players from the Upper Glanmire / White's Cross area and thus holds very close links with Upper Glanmire National School. In fact both Club and School wear the same Green and White colours.

The School uses our Club Grounds to play its home fixtures in the Sciath Na Scoil competitions each year. White's Cross GAA currently sponsors three Club Members, each of whom are Qualified GAA Coaches, to train the pupils of the School in the skills of football and hurling / camogie. All three coaches are past pupils of Upper Glanmire N.S. and each spend four hours a week coaching at the school, in an initiative commenced in October 2002.

Club Location:

The club is located in Upper Glanmire, White’s Cross, about four miles from Cork City. The club grounds, purchased in 1983, are located in the town-land of Ballinvriskig.

Amalgamation:

At the commencement of the 2001 season a decision was made at an Extraordinary General Meeting to amalgamate with neighbours Whitechurch GAA Club. The Clubs had been amalgamated at Minor and Under 16 level for over ten years at this time. As a result all our members who play hurling transferred to Whitechurch, while the Whitechurch footballers transferred to White's Cross. Visit Whitechurch GAA at: www.whitechurchgaa.ie
