Beginnings
Almost every belief system has a legend or story of the Creation.  I have read about Creation in everything from the Bible, to the Koran, to the Talmud, to Pagan beliefs.  There is truth in all of them.
In a completely personal understanding from these many texts I hope to convey what I have come to believe.  You will see that I have borrowed heavily from many writings and have come up with something that I can believe in.  I offer this not to try to convert anyone, but to show that many beliefs can co-exist and enhance each other.

In the beginning, there was nothing but The Creator. God.  From the Heart of this being, everything was formed with a single thought.

A word was spoken.  The Void moved; and it began.

There was a brilliant flash, the likes of which have never before or since been seen.  In the fullness of time, measured only by God, the heavens formed.  God placed the essence of himself giving the Universe free will in all creation.  With this, the Divine Spirit came to be, and the Universe spawned the stars, the stars gave birth to many worlds, and life began in all of its wondrous forms.

My conception of God is neither male nor female.  For continuity and simplicity, I use the male gender when I speak of God
.

Man and Woman are but two of God's creations.  God created male and female to continue their kind.  Man and Woman are equals and are to share the responsibilities and rewards of life

We shall continue on until the body loses its essence, it's Spirit.   But the essence of God is never diminished in any us, nor does the Spirit ever die.  The body may return to the stardust from which it was formed, but what we were, our Spirit, goes on, learning, seeking, and planting seed.  We may never reap our own harvest, but the fruits of our labors go on to feed others so they may continue in kind.  That is the purpose of our existence.   That is what God intended for us.

Remember that God also gave everything in the Universe free will.  In time, we come to realize that this free will does not mean there are no responsibilities or consequences in the exercise of this gift.

Old souls have come to know that the only way to be one with God, Divine Spirit, and self, is when all travel in the same direction. Our spirit is as I have said, is part of something greater…the Divine Spirit, or the Spirit of Creation.  I believe the soul returns to the Divine Spirit when the body ceases to be.  These souls can and do return to the corporeal world, and I feel that God grants the choice of these souls in returning to this existence.  But there are times when the individual spirit is in need to learn or give, they return for this function upon God's direction.  There is no need for heaven or hell as we are rewarded or punished for our actions on this plane of existence.  Heaven and hell is a human concept that I believe was created by religious leaders to keep the population "in line".

God and the Universe travel in tandem; it is our egos and self-centered interests that will allow us to stray from what we know to be true.  (Not necessarily what we have been told as true.)

We may stumble, fall, and rise again and again.  It is when we fail to rise that the darkness envelops us.  We shun others, become alone unto ourselves; falling prey to fear, anger, resentment, and the destruction of truth.

The only way back to the path is to seek the truth once more.  We ask for Divine help: it is given without reservation, or expectation, save this one demand: Seek the truth, share it, and harm none.

Most of my understanding has come from within, but it is based on how I have interpreted the many venues of information available to me
