What We Believe

History:

For the better part of the last two decades, I have worked with people who have fallen into the abyss as I did. I began this calling as a Lay Ministry formed on the basis that in God's Grace, all things can be forgiven.  We can begin again.

In 2003 I affiliated this Ministry with the Universal Life Church, headquartered in Modesto, California and was ordained a minister.

At this time, there is no brick and mortar sanctuary.  I have no need or want to build one.  I would then be bound by those walls and would be limited  as to what I feel as the calling of my heart.  One day The Creator may call me to build a church, but for now, I go where I am needed.

My Ministry serves The Creator's calling in two ways.  First by the many media offered via today's technology.  Second by working with those in need one on one, or in intimate groups.

Through pastoral counseling and spirituality workshops, the spiritual needs of those seeking a new beginning are ministered to.

In my life and as an ordained minister, I have shared with others The Creator  sacraments of birth, life, death, and new beginnings without the confinements  of doctrine or dogma.

Belief:

The two main beliefs of the Universal Life Church is "Do that which is right" and "Religious Freedom".

Doing what is right demonstrates the exercise of free will that God gave us…by accepting the consequences of our decisions and actions.

Religious Freedom is just that…freedom for all.  The right to worship and seek our own spiritual paths shall be inviolate.  Antithetically we acknowledge the right of individuals to not believe in or practice spirituality.  Another's individual beliefs or lack of are never at issue as      long as they do not violate the basic rule of do no harm.

I define spirituality as the relationship between self and whatever you deem to be that Supreme Being, Higher Power, Creator, God or Godddess.  I define religion as man's way of organizing these beliefs for any given group of people.

This ministry is bed-rocked upon a foundation of Grace. Let me state this very clearly.  I have come to believe that religion is not spirituality.    Some of the most spiritual beings I have known have never belonged to a   formal religion, or set foot in a church.

Where I part company with the Univeralists and Unitarians is in what I believe is that God reveals Himself to me as The Creator - Father of all things, The Goddess, Mother of Creation,  and the Divine Spirit, that essence or "soul" I  recognize as the life-force and awareness in all living beings.

Slowly over the last two decades I have gained an evolving and ever maturing sense of a power greater than myself.  In that relationship with that Higher Power I have chosen to call God, I have come to know more about myself as the understanding reveals itself to me.
