LOC Loathing vcd

4/5

Compilation vcd of loss of control gigs, videos!  Cool video to have! I think they released this on their own and Gani was responsible for the video editing. Check it out for yourself and rate it if you want! Just contact the band or maybe Lowell coz he’s got copies!

ANJING TANAH “DIMINUENDO CORRUPTION"

4/5

I got this from Uglysmokers. I really liked listening to this 15 min., 14-track offering because I fucking dig this kind of stuff. Fast, grinding hardcore, reminded me of Charles Bronson when I first listened to them. Songs start of with intros like movie clips then noise just comes right in your face. The only thing sad here is I can’t understand the lyrics. I think it’s written in their language. A good release though, and I’m hungry for more of their music!!

PIG DESTROYER “PROWLER IN THE YARD”

5/5

The first time I heard Pig Destroyer’s music, I already got hooked. The musical attack they create is insane! The lyrics are dark and intelligent! This cd starts of with a spoken porn story about some Jennifer doing some disturbing shit with another girl. As the story stops, prepare to be blasted away with pig destroyer’s grindcore attack! The vocals are screamed with intensity that fits with the grind riffs and the crashing drums with all its parts getting punished. Favorite tracks are Naked Trees & Scatology Homework. The production is very good; of course it’s from Relapse. www.loudnet.com/pigdestroyer     or     destroyerXI@hotmail.com

SHORT MUSIC FOR SHORT PEOPLE

FAT WRECK CHORDS

3/5

Well, 101 bands playing 30-second songs. You might think this sucks but this release is also cool in a way. There are lots of big bands here in this release like Black Flag, Agnostic Front, Sick of it All, Bad Religion, Circle Jerks and of course many more! Some songs are good and I really like listening to them but the rest is not for my hearing pleasure.

FAT MUSIC VOLUME VI

“UNCONTROLLABLE FATULENCE”

FAT WRECK CHORDS

NNN

18 bands playing punk, pop punk and other forms of punk. Some bands had an appeal to me (Lawrence Arms) but some didn’t. Some are just too poppy.

SAVES THE DAY “STAY WHAT YOU ARE”

VAGRANT

4/5

Saves the Day’s 2001 Stay What You Are is really a melodic and a different Saves The Day release. I dont like it as much as 99’s Through Being Cool. Maybe they continued to be more melodic after releasing the 5-song acoustic EP. Starts off with the hit “At Your Funeral” to begin the melodic journey of Saves the Day’s music. Some really melodic songs are “Freakish”, “Nightingale” and “This Is Not An Exit”. Other favorites are “As Your Ghost Takes Flight” and “All I'm Losing Is Me”. So, if you’re mellowing out go get yourself a copy of Stay What You Are.
