One of the first thing I made with my mom was my black cloak.When you wear a cloak, it seem everyone looks at you as if you’re an alien. Pattern        I have used the cloak from McCall’s 8937 but to have more choices, I suggest Simplicity 5794. I have used another hood because I didn’t like the one with the pattern. Fabric        I choose a black fleece and bought 8 m because it was on sale and because I wanted to have a double thickness, but for a simple cloak, 4-5 m will be enough. When I started cutting the fabric and it touched my clothes, I realised why it was on sale. What a shock! The fleece I bought transfers bits of fibers on every other fabric it comes in contact with. I was forced to put a lining inside the cloak. Advice        Never buy fleece before touching it and rub it on your cloth or another fabric.
