For a Scout Jamboree where I needed medieval clothes, my mother made this shirt for me to go with my Green Velvet Short Surcot. I also wear it with my Green Skirt and bustier. The neck is hels by ribbon which goes all around through many dozens of eyelet. Same for the top of the sleeves. Fabric This shirt is plain off-white cotton. The ribbon used is 1/8 inch wide, off-white with a tone on tone flower pattern. Pattern The basic shirt pattern used here is McCall’s 2793 view B. It was modify to give the top of the sleeve a pleat, and there is no gather around the cuffs and neckline. Advice Machine sewed eyelets take time. Don’t wait till the last minute! |
