I’ve always found that my Off-White Laced Shirt was a bit boring with my Linen Skirt and Bustier. So I decided to make myself a summer shirt that would go with my medieval clothes and yet be wearable with jeans. Fabric The shirt is made with an embroided summer cotton. I’ve used a total of 10 golden grommets,1/2 inch in size. The neck, sleeves and waist is gathered with medium size red satin cord. Pattern I’ve used Simplicity 5962 view E. The modifications I made were to replace the elastic at the neck and sleeve cuffs by a cord tie, to add side ties at the waist and to used eyelets. Advice Very thin fabrics can break with metal eyelets. You have to be careful when putting them on. |

It's such an easy shirt to make. Including cutting, sewing and eyelets, I don't think I spent more than two hours on it on a boring Saturday afternoon. | ||||||||||||
