As fast as we could move with a three-year old, we hauled butt out of bed to make our 10AM white-water rafting trip. Actually we split into two groups. Mom, K1 and K2 went white-water. Grandmother, myself and K3 took a scenic cruise. K3 was a trooper, but complained at the end, "I don't like this boat." Our guide was the same guide who was in charge of the white-water raft when Bill and Hillary Clinton took a trip to Jackson. He says Hillary refused to paddle and didn't want to get wet. He also says Bill was charismatic. Our guide said a lot about a lot. He was very talkative. We saw about a dozen bald eagles. Our guide called them lazy. The white-water rafters had a blast and wanted to go again. Our guide told us about a lunch place called Bubba's. Pretty good BBQ, but no beer. You're welcome to bring your own. The original plan was to keep the party split with my party going over the Teton's to Pierre's Hole. The other party would go horseback riding. Instead we combined the two groups and headed off to the A-OK Corral, right across the street from the KOA Campground (The AOKOA Corral/Campground?) in Hoback Junction. Hoback Junction is the junction of the Hoback and Snake Rivers and is named after the trapper who worked for John Jacob Astor. Hoback was ultimately killed by Shoshone Indians. I dot not recommend the AOK Corrals. It is not A-OK. It was inefficient, the people surly and the ride too dusty and intense. K3 rode on the same saddle as myself and going down some hills did not please her (nor me). Leftovers for dinner. |
