The National Park Service www.nps.gov, sells a Passport to the National Parks.  It gives a listing of all the parks and space to stamp when you have visited.  Our passport has stamps from FDR, ER, TR, and Bandelier.  Donald and Mom are quite competitive.  They too purchased a Passport and have stamps from FDR, ER, TR as well as TR's birthplace in Manahttan.  They visited TR's birthplace on the 16th.

Kathleen's Birthday!  She was two year's old.  Of course, every day is like a birthday to a two-year old.

I kind of jumped the gun.  Mom and Donald came into the city and visited TR's birthplace.  It actually isn't his birthplace, but the site of the house where he was born.

But before that we went to the Strand bookstore
www.strandbooks.com, 8 miles of books.  Everyone sweated like a pig and bought some books.  I bought, "The Golden Age" by Gore Vidal (one of my favorite authors) and Bernard Devoto's "The Course of Empire," which won the National Book Award many years ago.

They left on Wednesday July 17 to visit Kevin and Mary in Chicago.  In theory they will visit Lincoln's home in Springfield and Grant's home in Galena.  There is a contest to see who can visit the most Presidential sites.  I believe we have an advantage over Mom, since she will never find the Hermitage.
