Release of At The Refuge |

So anyway the refuge askes me to put this puppet show together, and I, of course jump at the chance. Now you can click over to my official ATR page to get all the details about it. What I am going to give you here is a brief script analysis to show you how this was a largly autobiographical work and does reflect where I was in my life. Now I put quite a bit of myself into Anna, but by far the characture who represents me best is Eddy. Like Eddy, I see myself a a pretty good guy and I'm pretty funny, too. Also, like Eddy, I can sometimes push the boarder between "being funny" and "being anoying." When Eddy first comes on the sceen, he is met with mixed reactions. He tries to win everyone over by rapping. (A la The MC Ox incident.) Although impressing Tommy and the audience, he is still not aloud to take part in the show and Anna tells him to leave, even after he offered to help on several levels. Not giving up Eddy returns, dressed in a disguise to try to take part of the show. (Remember Close-Up?) After he fails at this attempt he returns on final time to be in the show. He is met with anger and rejection at which point he leaves to go live a life of isolation. Now knowing that this was a kids show, I could not just come out and express this, so I had Eddy hint that he was going to go take a job as the Jersey Devil. (A characture in Pine Barrons' folklore.) But lonly isolation is were Eddy was going, and where I was. Sorry if I ruined the show for you, but that is what it is really about. If I was to ever do a sequil, and there has been talk, I am sure it would end quite differently. On a brighter note there have bben a couple different endings added on, and Eddy has a big part in them. | ||||||||||
