Alrighty then, I got this story from Comic Man's E-mail Jokeletter a while ago now and only just got around to posting it, but it gave me a damn good laff when I first read it and saw the pic that went with it.....
Apparently a Grade School Teacher had the idea that as a project the class would grow plants that they could take home for the parents. As they were just little uns and quite likely to forget about watering plants as such like they decided that the cactus was the best choice as they don't require a whole lot of looking after. So they planted them in class and waited for them to grow.
In the mean time it was decided that a class visit to a local pottery factory could be arranged and the children could watch the process of the planters being made for their plants to grow into. A choice was made by the kids that nice bright clowns would be the best design of planter for them.
However, as the time grew near for the plants to go home, it was decided by the school that the cacti should be removed and some other plant put in their place. The reason for this is quite obvious I think.......
