As we all know Matthew Shepard was murdered from HATE... How is it as good hearted Americans can we stop this hatred....

Many people have simply focused hate crimes on Matthew Shepard. Don't get me wrong I am not taking anything away from the pain and agony this has caused on his family, his friends, the gay community, and American Society as a whole; however, take a look at the big picture. Many people in this nation are discriminated against, beaten, or even MURDERED for the color of their skin, the lifestyle they live, the disability one may have, amongst many other things. I am so hurt by the hatred of many people and the biggotry in this country.

Many Americans think that Hate Crime Legislation is wrong and makes a murder of hate worse than a murderer just killing to kill... Well, I feel murder in any circumstance is very wrong; however, murdering someone because you don't like the fact they are black, white, gay, straight, or whatever has a much higher occurance rate and should be punished accordingly...

I truly hope this page has enlightened you and maybe change your views... I have a very weak spot for sad events; especially, when they deal with hatred and discrimination.

You may say "you can't make a difference". Let me tell you one thing... the hatred in this country is as diverse as the people, and if all of the people who are discriminated against ban together.... My friend THIS WILL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE...

When people say LEGALIZE GAY MARRIAGE... It baffles me... I didn't realize it was ILLEGAL... however, the granting of the same rights is My Argument. I am an American and I believe the Constitution applys to me as well, SO WHY ARE WE FORCED TO FIGHT FOR THE RIGHTS WE ARE ENTITLED TO ???
