Who We Are | ||||||||||
Youth to Youth is a drug-free organization for high schoolers and middle schoolers. It was founded in 1982 in Columbus, Ohio, as a community-based drug prevention and youth leadership program focusing primarily on middle school and high school students. The goal of its many projects is harnessing the powerful influence of peer pressure -- making it a positive force that encourages young people to live free of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs. The four components of the program are: drug free fun, community change, personal growth, and drug education. We exercise these by organizing events such as Red Ribbon Week for our town, and by offering drug free events for the youth in our town. For some of these activities, we join the Ridgefield Youth to Youth group (see link to their website below). Our Wilton High School branch of Youth to Youth meets on Thursdays from 6:30-7:00 PM in the lower level of Comstock during the school year. Meetings are open to everyone, but after attending three meetings, members are required to sign a pledge to remain drug free as long as they are involved with the program. Our middle school branch meets every other Monday after school..... |
