About Windsong
Windsong is a women's chorus whose mission is to perform music that empowers women, effects social change, and builds community.  Formed in 1979, Windsong performed at local women's events such as the Peace Bazaar and house conceerts, including one with Ruth Huber, an important name in women's choral groups.  We've matured through performing with the Sisters Singers' Network and Gala and now have our own concerts twice a year.

Our 2004-2005 season started with the appointment of new artistic director,
Karen Weaver. In January our concert has us "Steppin' Out" at St. Alban's Church in Cleveland Heights.  It was a smashing success.  Then in April our concert, "Hearing Voices," which we performed at Drinko Recital Hall on the campus of Cleveland State University, was a huge hit with both our old and new fans.

We kicked down the doors for the 2005-2006 season with a fantastic winter concert, "Voices of Freedom, Voices of Truth," which received
this rave review on Cool Cleveland.com, and now, we're gearing up for our spring concert, "The Importance of Being Ernestine," in honor of one of the earliest suffragettes, Ernestine Rose.

We rehearse most Sundays from September through May at 4:00 PM at Archwood United Church of Christ, 2800 Archwood Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio.

"It really stretched my comfort boundaries to join this group...and I am so very pleased that I did.  I was welcomed, encouraged at every step, and found that when it came time to sing to that packed house that I DID have my voice and it came right out!" - Lona, Alto II
