Started in 1972, Windsor Forest was developed by the late Robert S. Hornsby and his son Bobby Hornsby.   The neighborhood has large green spaces and is ringed with large wooded buffer zones which, by covenant, are to be left in their natural state.  Windsor Forest is one of the few neighborhoods that has green spaces and buffer zones in excess of government requirements.  Windsor Forest is centrally located in historic James City County and is convenient to Colonial Williamsburg, Shopping, and Recreation.

Windsor Forest is located off Longhill Road at Olde Towne.  With easy access to the Interstate, the Colonial Parkway, and Highway 199, Windsor Forest is an excellent location for those that have travel needs to Virginia Beach, Gloucester, Richmond, and South of the James.
