| OUR FIRST…OH MY GOODNESS By Croft Yup, it’s our first birthday and there’s nothing you can do about it. JULY 13, 2002 is the date, the date that started the horrifying event, marks it. Together with the BSEPT acquaintance party is the celebration of our anniversary. And like what we have promised in our last issue, we are voting for the new member of the Society. She is…KAT’S EYE also known as Katherine Samson. And if you have been wondering what happened to the group, well let me tell you. Gestalt (Apryl “Queen of the Dammed” Cruz) is still on her shining best, looking straight up, and feeling proud. Aphrodite (Khul “Bebe” Cabalo) and Aquamarine (George www.com Aguas) are still together getting mushy. As for mystique (Joyce “scream” Panaguiton) is still on her highest pitch breaking all the glasses all over the campus. Athena (Zenda “girl next door” Facin al) still pushes her identity as Cameron Diaz. And for Watcher, Black Swiss, & Aylah, are still on their daily jobs as humans and inhuman. And as for me…well still creating havoc. And us combined together…you’ll never know what will hit you. Anyway it was a great year. Congratulation and let’s go to New York. WHAT’S COOL…CYBER GAME Have you ever get tired of playing counter-strike, etc. Well I got news for you. Have you ever heard about THE SIMS. No not Bart Simpson and everything, but “The Sims Playhouse”. It’s the hottest pc game in the U.S. The SIMS is a game about designing a family life and playing with it. It’s a social oriented game where you will create your own family (afterwards the neighborhood) then literally design and build your own house and backyard. I mean, you will purchase your tools, tiles, wall, etc. From plane house, to bedroom, to swimming pool, to stereo. And not only that, you have to build great relationship with the members of the family and the society. Don’t forget you have to find the father or mother their job, take care of the kids and fulfill the needs of everyone in the family. You control the game, their movements, actions, and sometimes thoughts. They also move on their own and do realistic things. I mean you can make them take a bath and they will go to the bathroom, take off their clothes and take a bath. It’s really nut cracking but very cool. Well I think it’s still not widely use in ordinary computer café in Manila. But you can purchase your own. Hey try it and feel the difference. WHAT’S WITH THE BeshiPT… What with the Beshipt? Lately the gang is organizing an acquaintance party for the whole BSEPT Empire with the title “Trip to Japan”. Why? I don’t really understand what’s with the thinking of Aylah and Ruby, but one things for sure it’s going to be held inside the Japanese garden in Luneta Park. The traditional acquaintance made to welcome the first year students taking bachelor of secondary education major in physics and technology was suppose to happen last Saturday (July 6, 2002) but due to the hazardous weather (thank God there’s no classes for two days) it was postponed to July 13, 2002 (the next Saturday). And adding to the twist is the new adviser of the Empire- Prof. Antriman Orleans. Honestly I’d been hearing reactions about this coming from the fourth year but taking to consideration he is really a good adviser, noting his leadership in SAPE and other stuff. In all the dramas and fun things inside the BeshiPT, there’s no doubt of asking: What’s with the BeshiPT? NOW YOU TELL ME…the glass story How are glasses made? This is the question, the answer: Glass has been made by humans for about 4,500 years, and it generally consists of silica (sand), potassium or soda, lime, and occasionally some other chemicals. They are melted together and cooled at air temperature so that the material is hard, but has a smooth and flowing shape, more like a liquid. The precise recipe for glass changes from place to place -- the chemistry and techniques are often closely guarded secrets. Not too surprisingly, the Corning Museum of Glass has an amazing Resource for Glass with pictures of glassblowers and an article about unbreakable glass from ancient QUESTION! How is valentines created? It's hard to say exactly how or when Valentine's Day first started. Some say it began as an ancient Roman festival called Lupercalia, which took place in February and included rituals to pair up young men and women. As the Roman Empire converted to Christianity, some old festivals were converted to Christian holidays. Around the year 270, a priest named Valentine secretly married couples against the emperor's orders, and, as a result, he was jailed and died on February 14th. In honor of this priest, the Pope named February 14 as St. Valentine's Day. In Medieval Europe, people began sending love notes on Valentine's Day, and that's how Valentine cards started. Want to send a Valentine to someone far away? HOW TO SAY I love you AROUND THE GLOBE Wo ai ni (Mandarin)Ngo oi ney (Cantonese)Saya cinta padamu (Indonesian)Sukiyo (Japanese)Yo te amo/Te quiero (Spanish)Ich liebe Dich (Germany)Je t'aime (French) Sarang Ham-nida (Korean)Ya tyebya lyublyu (Russian)Ti amo/Ti voglio bene(Italian) Eu te amo (Portuguese)Seni seviyorum (Turkish) Khao raak thoe (Thai)T'estimo, t'esteme molt (Catalan SECRETS NO MORE… My goodness, have you heard? Yeah I know anyways, let me remind you. There was this one girl (you know her sneeze and high voice) talking to another girl (who has a bf; you know the sweet birds) about someone. Suddenly I (sitting in between them) heard that they are talking about the jerk and found out that one of them has a thing on the jerk (guess who) and suddenly slap me upon my reaction. Then she said that she was just shock, denying the big thing fact. And did you heard, if you read the last SECRETS NO MORE 2nd issue about a guy. Yeah you know him. A classmate of him told me that he got angry at the article. I say why will he react when infact there’s so little clue that you will not almost know in the article. Oh I see, there is something else. And there was another gal, so intimidated by a joke that she texted “mauunahan pa kita sa kanya!” I can’t believe she can say that, with her nice face and girl next-door attitude. But then again, she can do whatever she desires. It’s her freedom. Right Cameron?
