DIVING TEAM
The Official web page for Husky Diving
Tis the Season for the Hersey Boy's Diving Team to spring into action.
I have some additional pictures from Sectionals that I will be putting up.
As the year progresses, I hope to put more pictures and information on this page. It is my desire that you have fun and learn some new dives. The Current Topics page of this site may be helpful. Look at the articles under High School Diving. Those articles are there for you. Good luck and have a great year.
How to watch diving.
The article above is for parents and diving fans that would
like to be better informed about the scores they see from the judges.
The 2 articles below are for the divers. Look at them now! They may help you decide what you want to achieve and the direction you want to go this year.

Meet Your Husky Divers.
I didn't get a new picture so I used one from last year. The test is, "Which one doesn't belong?"
Husky divers in action!
Conference
MSL diving will be held on a Friday. Warm ups for the divers begin at 4 pm. The contest is scheduled to begin at 6pm.
Wheeling

This was our last dual meet of the season. We are looking forward to Championship time.

Elk Grove

I just noticed from these pictures that we are looking better with our form and ability to point our toes!!!

However, we still have some work ahead with trying to stand up and go up but all in all things are getting better.

Olympic Invite
Again I am sorry that I couldn't take any pictures but my wife returned well after the meet was over. I would like to thank the 3 divers that came and worked the diving table. Only one mistake was found.
Our divers finished 3rd and 4th in this contest and did so with their highest scores ever for 11 dive meets. Way to go Hersey divers!
Prospect
Sorry guys! I didn't get any pictures during this meet because my wife took the camera with her to capture my new granddaughter. She was born 1/13/07 at 1:55 am ET and weighed in at 9lbs 7oz.
I do want to say that your diving went well with another 1,2,3 performance on Varsity and 1,2 on the F/S level. We eventually won the meet and are closing in on the MSL East Divisional Championship Title.
Barrington
This was an historic evening for Huskie Diving. It's the first time Hersey won the diving event in a long time. It is also the first time ever Hersey divers swept the event. Way to go divers!

Even some of our alumni returned to cheer the guys on! It was good to see them again.

Warmups were "ok" but our form is still lacking a bit. Notice the diver below left, he pointed his toes in the tuck. One out of five is better than none out of five.

Our 2 Sophomores are scoring very close to each other. It looks like a heated battle for the rest of the season. Which one will be the best? Only time will tell.

Warmups are over and the referee gives the final instructions. The meet contest begins and more of our alumni show their feelings about the outcome of the event.
Buffalo Grove F/S Invite

Early morning warm ups are over and the referee gives the final instructions. Our diver listens attentively.

Too sick to dive but still came to support his friend. Our only entrant waits for the results with his team mate.
Rolling Meadows

Why can't we point our toes?

The look of amazement when they realize they didn't point their toes.
Buffalo Grove

The divers are getting better. I used these two pictures as an example. I suggested that he raise his arms up in the open-pike position and he did a little!
I also suggest pointing toes and you can see what happens.
Maine West

Stevenson Invite

Hersey Soph Divers have proven to be Golden... twice.

Hersey Varsity diver finished second twice. Our divers performed well at this Invite. There wasn't a lot of time to get ready but they all rose to the challenge.
Hoffman Estates

Something is not right with my pictures this year but I will keep trying to make them better.

Just as my picture taking is not good so far this year, it's not as bad as some of the form you will see on this site.
A Coach's Nightmare!

As it gets closer to Championship time, coaches have concerns about how their divers will do. This coach is having some nightmares about the form his divers are displaying. He wakes in the middle of the night with these pictures firmly etched in his mind. Not only is the coach subject to this visual stress at practice but now it's in his dreams. If you examine these pictures you will notice that this form really is hard on the eyes. It's almost a form of torture. Therefore this coach is considering sending the bill for his vision tests to these divers. Somebody help me please!

The nightmares "keep on keepin on"!
