| William, Great Grandfather X32.. Born 3-15-1615 in Alford, England Died in Dover NH, 3-16-1697. All Wentworths in the USA are descended from William He was one of the first English settlers to arrive in America. He came due to religious disagreements and was a follower of Reverand John Wheelwright. Eventhough the Wentworths seemed to all have numerous children the line seems very thinned out now. Mostly passes down the female lines. There are Wentworths in Australia as well. All descended from, Reynold De Wynterwade, a Saxon, possibly originally from Denmark. He died sometime after 1066. William's' Father was Christopher, Mother Catherine Marbury. Emigrated to America in 1636. |
