Dreams have always fascinated me, so I decided to write one in a story.  It amazes me that even the most disturbing of nightmares can actually translate into positive real-life insights.

If this interests you or you've got some free time on your hands, I've included the appropriate meanings of the objects and situations from above.  They almost tell a second story.  I used the "Dream Catcher" website (below) and several others as reference.

HAIR
Attraction and sensuality.  Hair is highly valued by most cultures. It is symbol of vanity, security, sensuality, sexual appeal, and of youth. Hair is a valuable dream symbol. It represents physical and spiritual strength. If it is someone else's hair you see, then that person is very close to you physically, spiritually, and emotionally.

KISSING
Kissing is usually an indication of warmth, affection, and happiness. If you are kissing the object of your affection, the dream could indicate fulfillment.  If you are kissing a loved one then the dream indicates pure love.

DIAMONDS
Diamonds are valuable, timeless, and very precious.  The diamond is an object of desire and symbolizes those things that are most valuable to you.  Your dream may help you to decipher what is most valuable and then give you clues where to find it.

HANDS
Holding hands with someone is a sign of sincere love and happiness.

LOVE
For most of us, love is a full-time obsession. There is nothing more important to our emotional, psychological, or spiritual well-being than love. It is a vital part of any growth process. Dreams may be filled with images of love, friendship, compassion, and lust. In the end, it is all about acceptance and belonging. To be loved is to feel accepted and have a sense of belonging. In our dreams we may be trying to figure out this mystery called love. It may be spiritual or practical, but always deals with a significant part of our psyche or our daily lives.  If you dream of losing love or being torn away, then it means you have plenty in real life and are worried about giving it up.

BED
Your own bed offers you security that you may be lacking in your life.  This is one of the most valued pieces of furniture. It's where we sleep, rest, restore our minds and bodies and engage in sexual pleasure. The bed is symbolic of all of these things. The bed could also symbolize the bridge between the conscious and the unconscious (i.e. our daily lives and the great unknown, our spirit and our psychological undercurrent).

DEATH
Death is usually a symbol of some type of closure or end. It implies an end to one thing and a beginning of another. Death dreams usually have positive symbolism.  Dreaming about someone that you care about may express your fear about losing him or her. In some cultures dreaming about death and dying is a very good omen that represents longevity and prosperity.

ABANDONMENT
Your unconscious may be giving you messages regarding what needs to be kept and needs to be let go. Please remember that the unconscious is attempting to compensate for an imbalance in the conscious. For example if you are overly attached to someone in daily life, in the dream state, he or she may abandon you. This is an attempt by the unconscious to make you aware of your dependency.

KITCHEN
Houses in dreams generally represent the dreamer. The kitchen is the heart of the house. For most families, the kitchen is a place of warmth and nourishment (emotional as well as physical). Examine the conditions of your dream kitchen and you may become aware of some emotional needs and feelings toward yourself and others.

KNIFE
This tool does not have positive connotations. It may reflect the unrest and difficulty that you are experiencing. If you are self-mutilating, consider your actions and/or addictions. Take a hint from your unconscious and modify or discontinue your harmful thoughts or actions.  If the knife is inactive in your dream, just the opposite is true.  You have either already conquered fears or you are simply afraid that unrest will appear in the future.

TELEPHONE
In our dreams the telephone could be a symbol with which we are expressing a desire to communicate with ourselves and with others. Our unconscious and/or intuition may be trying to give us messages that we have been unwilling to listen to. If you don't want to answer the ring, ask yourself why?  Communication is the key here.

DOOR
Doors are passageways and in our dreams that is their symbolism. Going through a door may represent going from one state of consciousness to another, or from one inner plane to another. Locked or closed doors may represent longing for something that is out of reach.  A closed door is often a barrier that needs to be broken or a situation that needs addressed in your life.

CRYING
In our dreams we experience a variety of emotions. Crying in the dream state generally has the same meaning as crying in daily life. It is a release of negative emotion, frustration, or fear. In the dream state some of our defense mechanisms may relax and an emotional release occurs. If you never cry in daily life, you may cry in your dreams.  If you find it hard to cry, then subconsciously you know there is no real need to.

BLUE SKY
Blue denotes a great source of inner peace and a symbol of contentment.  Looking up to the sky is like looking forward to the future with strength and confidence.

FLOWERS
When we look at flowers, most of us feel some joy and vitality. At the very least, we appreciate their beauty and see their value. Flowers are beautiful and in our dreams they could represent the simplest feelings of contentment to the deepest feelings of spiritual completeness. Flowers also represent hope and positive growth, along with simplicity.

GREEN
Growth and serenity.  There are projects that you are enthusiastic about.  Great pleasures from simple things.

FIELDS
To see green fields in your dream, symbolizes great abundance, freedom, and happiness. You may also be going through a period of personal growth. To see freshly plowed fields in your dream signifies growth, early rise to wealth and fortunate advancements to places of honor.

SUNSET
The sun sustains all life on Earth. When you see it in your dreams, it suggests that you are being nurtured and sustained by your environment and your life choices. It could also represent a spiritual force or the light of God. Sunsets suggest a period of closure and completion. Sunlight in your dreams is never a negative symbol. Light always symbolizes or indicates consciousness and may connote masculine energy. Its presence, even in the most disturbing dreams, has reassuring quality.  Often indicates the end of a dream.
