Batson Bullock Sr. b about 1750 in Scotland, moved to England where he married Susan Haskins. He was a cutler by trade. At least two of their sons emigrated to America. Batson Bullock Jr. married Comfort Turner. Daniel Bullock, married Mary Whitehurst, b NC. (my line) Daniel and Mary are found in Pitt Co NC in 1800 census. Both died in Georgia. Daniel Bullock a Rev. Soldier. Children of Daniel & Mary Whitehurst Bullock are:
Joseph Bullock, James Bullock (could this be: James Whitis Bullock b. abt 1793 ?? my line), Batson Bullock, Charles Bullock, Irwin Bullock, (Nalda's line) lived in Dooly Co. Ga. Susan Bullock (m.Frederick Sims), Ellen Bullock (m.William Wood)
** The name Whitis is interesting to me because some of our Whitehurst line say that the Whitehurst name was changed on some to Whitis.

I think the evidence is all pointing towards James Whitis Bullock as being the son of Daniel and Mary Bullock. My reasons: 1. It was and is common to use the mother's maiden name as the middle name. So if JWB is not the child of Mary Whitehurst Bullock, then most likely her sister or cousin. (I haven't gone back to look for any of them) 2. The dates are perfect. He was born in 1788. The oldest child of Daniel and Mary was born in 1793. 3. There IS a James listed as a child of this couple. I have seen it written that this James was married to a "Miss Byrd," but this appears to be unsubstantiated and comes from one source, some handwritten notes. 4. The whole Irvin Uriah and Uriah Irwin connection. Batson and Comfort Turner Bullock had a son, Uriah Irwin. If James Whitis Bullock IS the child of Daniel and Mary Whitehurst Bullock, this boy would have been his nephew. He then, as we know, had a son he named Irvin Uriah. That to me, is just too much to believe is coincidental. I could be convinced that it was, instead, another cousin but surely it has to be very close kin.
