All of the information on the Rambos was taken from the following book available at the Carnegie Free Library, Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, on April 20, 1995. The family were Lutheran, and Peter Gunnarson Rambo was one of teh founders and longtime vestryman of one of the first Swedish churches in America, located at Wicaco, a short distance south of Penn's Landing in Philadelphia. When a new church was built it was erected over the grave of Peter which is under the altar. Gloria Dei(Old Swede's) Church still stands in Philadelphia, and is a National Historic Shrine. He had inherited land on Homan's Creek, Glouster County, New Jersey, in 1698 and subsequently "purchased a tract of land in 1707 on the Schuykill River lying adjacent to Peter Cock's land, and the Widow Yokum's land on the south. It was near what is now Bridgeport, Pennsylvania." Gunnar occupied a prominent place in the affairs of the province. He was a member of the first grand jury under William Penn and a member of the Pennsylvania Assembly in 1685. The family belong to the Gloria Dei Church at Wicacoa.
