20. SOLOMON WALKER (HALL)3 BULLOCK (THADDEUS WARSAW2, THOMAS T.1) was born January 18, 1866, and died January 15, 1929 in Bakersfield, Kern County, California.  He married (1) MINTA IDA RUSSELL HURST.    He married (2) M. ADDIE FOSTER December 01, 1887.  She died Abt. 1925 in Bexar County, Texas.  He married (3) LELIA HOPKINS October 18, 1893 in McKinney, Texas.  She died 1894.

Notes for SOLOMON WALKER (HALL) BULLOCK:
Solomon Walker Bullock shot and killed his mother-in-law during an argument with his wife.  He was sentenced to prison but
escaped and changed his name to Tom Hall. He was absent from the family for twenty years.  His mother, Sarah, died at his home in Vera, Texas around 1909.

From Don Hall, grandson of Solomon Walker Bullock/Hall:

"Solomon married M. Addie Foster December 1, 1887 and had
one child, Ethel.  They lived in Groesbeck, Texas at this time.

This marriage did not go well and separation ensued.  The situation got worse and during a visit to the estranged wife's parent's home one evening, in an attempt to see his child, a major dispute arose.  Solomon and his father-in-law began to fight, guns were pulled and in the struggle the mother-in-law attempted to break it up.  Solomon's gun was fired and the mother-in-law lay dead.  Solomon left and hid out for approximately three weeks, he then decided to turn himself in.

He was tried by jury in Limestone Co., Texas on September 5, 1889.  He was found guilty of manslaughter and sentenced to 3 years hard labor in the
Texas State Penitentiary in Rusk, Texas on September 13, 1889.
The prison records state clearly that
he escaped but the exact date is not known.

He married Lilia Hopkins on October 18, 1893 in McKinney, Texas.  This wife died in childbirth, as well as the baby in less than a year from the marriage date.    We have no information as to Solomon's whereabouts or activities between the prison escape and his second marriage.

He then married a widow with two children in McKinney, Texas in
1895. Her name was Minta Ida Russell Hurst. Ida had a girl and boy. Approximately five years later they had their first child, Roxey, then shortly thereafter Bessie.
The family farmed on land they owned near Vera, Texas until 1911.

From 1911 to 1918 they lived in Johnston County, Oklahoma.  My father,
Thomas William Hall, was born March 21, 1912 in Nider, Oklahoma, near Durant.

1918 to 1921 they lived in Arizona, the towns of Chandler, Mesa, and Gilbert.  The plan was to develop new farm land, drought came and they finally left.
His brother Thaddeus Warsaw, Jr. was living there also, both families left in 1921.

1921 to 1922, both families lived in Mountain air, New Mexico.   Your great-grandfather died and is buried there.
My dad's (Thomas W. Hall)
sister Bessie lost a child there also.

1922, they moved on the Arkansas, town of Roger, stayed one year, moved on.  (I failed to state that this entire saga from 1918 to 1923 was all by covered wagon.  My dad remembers it all very well.)

1923 - Vera and Seymour, Texas - moved on
1924 - Grayson Co., Texas moved on
1925 - Brownfield, Texas - moved on

1925 - Fall, arrived at Merced, California.  Attempted to farm in the area for three years.  Roxey's husband, Mabry Fox was a partner.  Mabry took the money and ran.  Broke again!

1928 - Arvin, California - one last try for a cotton crop.  He got sick and sold the crop in the field, along with mules and cultivator (I have copies of receipts for this)

1928 - November, back to Merced, getting sicker.  His wife,
Ida, left Arvin in late 1928 for McKinney, Texas where Bessie was and a promise of a cure for her cancer.

1929 - Solomon(Thomas) returned to Bakersfield in early January, he entered Kern General Hospital on January 7, 1929 and
died on January 15, 1929. He is buried in the Union Cemetery in an unmarked grave, which I have located and hope to move him."
