The day I brought Savannah, my first leo, home I started a diary for her so I could keep track of anything wierd or unusual for further refference. I've decided to put my diary online for anyone to reference. Feel free to email me questions regarding the diary. |

Wed. March 19, 2005 Reptile Wrangler Baby Leopard Gecko $59.99
I named her Savannah. I chose her of the bunch because her bands had a big yellow circle on her back. She had nice colours, good eyes and she was alert. But when it comes down to it, they all looked the same. So...the spot sorta 'targeted' her. So to speak... Unusual colours- blue over eyes, upside down smiley on neck, circle on back, bright orange strip on tail, purple and white stripes on tail. |

Savannah's choice daytime sleeping spot is curled up in the back of the jaguar skull. Nighttime she enjoys laying on the polished stone formation. Most likely because its on the under tank heater and always warm. |

I was told that she most likey wouldn't eat for the first few days but she had a couple of crickets. She ate right from the tweezers. She also seems to enjoy chasing them herself. |

The first time I sprayed her with mist water (i noticed a bit of loose skin on her toe) she hissed. She doesn't much like being misted. She no longer hisses but does seem irked. |

I still haven't seen Savannah lap up any water which is why I continue misting. She hasn't shed yet either. Went back to the Reptile Wrangler and learned that when I got Savannah she was about 12 weeks old. That puts her hatchday around x-mas time. Dec 25 is exactly 12 weeks from the Saturday the Reptile Wrangler got her batch in. |

Savannah had her first shed. I thought she might shed soon and this photo (that I'll post later) proves me right. She feels softer and wrinklier and I don't this she has been as active at night lately. I wake up and often shes up the tree vines or crawling/climbing on something. Maybe shes just comfortable with hersurroundings now. Once I woke up and she was hanging upside down from her wire tank lid. |

Savannah shed her skin later that night. All at once, with no problems. There was no skin in the tank so yum yum! |

Savannah is preparing to shed again. I think shes getting more comfortable with me. When I feed her a waxworm she liked to play tugOwar for it and feeding time has her at the glass staring at me funny. Her appitite is very good, which is most likely the cause for her second shed. She shed that night. |
