She is an attractive femme, sleek and of medium-build, not overly beautiful but certainly refined and pleasant to look at. She sits a few feet from you, comfortable and demure, head tilted slightly, brilliant green eyes narrowed contemplatively. Her pelt, silken and pure white, is marked in azure tattoos and, at the moment, glowing embers of enchanted blue flames about her paws and tail. After a long, silent time of watching you, she rises to her paws, the smallest of smiles twitching up her muzzle, and turns to slink back into the forest as though uncaring whether or not you follow. As she turns, the flames rise up each limb as though the fire had been stoked, washing out the tattoos on her legs and curling around the base of her tail. This gives a final flick, and she is gone. Name: Snowy_Midnight (Snowy) |
Snowy was born bright green, the twin sister of Nakran, to Satin and Growler. It's uncertain whether or not she and her brother were a wanted pregnancy; their arrival was met with joy from both parents, but also with tremendous strain to their relationship. Both lupes were very young, and Satin's affections were torn between his mate and the object of a passionate teenage romance, and the pups were born into a time of complete chaos and turmoil because of it. Snowy's earlier memory is that of her father being tortured by another lupe. she never rightly met the lupe who did it, or she would have known his name was Forest and that he was the brother of Satin's old mate Angel; she would have known that Forest was enraged with Satin for having toyed with his sister's affections. As it were, she was only aware of cowering, hidden in the bushes next to her blissfully sleeping brother, watching helplessly as her handsome father was pinned by a far larger lupe and his forelegs were shattered under powerful jaws. She listened to him scream for a long, long time before someone came for her, taking her home and presumably returning to rescue her father. The scream echoed in her mind for days, too large and completely incomprehensible to her, and it was the first thing she consciously thought about as she became old enough to try to understand--this injustice, this violence, and how it could survive in the world. She never spoke. It wasn't from lack of ability; it was from some deep-seated horror and loathing for that haunting image in her mind which prevented her from it. It was willpower for a cause she never really comprehended, from some well she was hardly aware of. And by the time she was old enough to want to talk, it never occurred to her that she might be able to. She developed mindspeech, which, while powerful, worked only on certain lupes. She could speak fluently with her twin, even over long distances, and could hold a converstion with her father. She could not speak to her mother at all. Because of this, Snowy grew far closer to her father than her mother, an unavoidable fact of her life and childhood which probably drove a stake between them eternally. Still, she could not change and refused to fake affections or devotions which weren't there. She has dim memories of being very, very young and struggling through a storm to find her father--terrified he may have been taken by more who would harm him--and, indeed, discovering him amongst a group of his close friends. One of these, a lupe somewhat older than she, perhaps in his very early teens, was Bold, and she took an immediate liking to him. This seemed to seal something, and from this time on she spent all of her time with Satin and his friends, and began to drift away from her mother and even her twin. [Adolesence]
She had shed her emerald puppy fur and had, to everyone's surprise, grown sleek white fur like that of her parents--only it was marked with azure flames which twitched and moved over her pelt. No one questioned these odd markings, but between these and her telepathy, it was clear she was no normal lupess. She continued a quiet friendship with Bold, developing a slight crush on him but never acting on it, and he eventually faded from her knowledge as she grew older and made other friends. The best of these was a lupe, older and more worldly, named Cyphiro. From their first meeting, it was clear something significant would happen between them. He was gentle and caring toward her, despite his demonic heritage, and she felt her young heart being stirred to passionate feelings toward him. She began to spend more and more time away from home, at Cyphiro's side instead. It was unexpected but not wholly unbelievable when Satin tried to kill himself. Now certain that his pups would no longer be needing him, and still plagued by the ghosts of his past, he flung himself into a river and nearly drowned before being pulled free by an eyrie. He clung to the edges of life before being resurrected by the combined magic of Ulryk, his adoptive father, and Snowy's daughterly devotion and telepathy. He had done the damage, however; the family crumbled, and he left to join his former mate Angel until her death, at which time he joined the Fire Eagles lupe pack to run alongside his dearest friends. Zebriaca, disgusted, left the family and began to wander. Snowy bid farewell to her mother and twin, and joined Cyphiro in their own travels. [Adulthood]
Snowy was thus rendered an only mother before the age of twenty, and wandered with her pups for some time before discovering a small, tribal pack called The Nantika Clan, which she joined. She was incredibly devoted to this pack and its few members, and her pups grew up in it; Kaeerah left shortly after having reached adolesence, and while Snowy didn't trust her, she knew there was nothing for her to do. Cyphiro returned, unexpectedly, sometime later. He was on the edge of death, and they had only one day of blissful reunion before he died; Snowy was deep in his mind at the time, and it scarred her horribly. She has never been quite the same since, but she did eventually get over the pain. She was eventually called to the assistance of her father's pack. Bold, her childhood friend, had fallen deathly ill and it was possible that she could reach him and pull him from his coma, as she had with her father. Dubiously, she tried it, and it worked, much to her surprise. They were immediately bonded by this intimate connection forged between them, and a short courtship later they became devoted mates. Bold left his pack to join her at Nantika, and fathered her second litter, composed of seven pups.
