Straight sets win against Division 1 title contender in cup! |
In the biggest match of the season so far, Wolverhampton eased past Ashcombe to gain a place in the 4th round of the cup. This was our first chance to test ourselves against division 1 standard and the team certainly stood up to the challenge. Perhaps this year we'll make our second final in two years! |

The Wolverhampton team has been further strengthened by the recruitment of world class players. Vanessa Malone has now returned to training after having a baby, and World Tour beach player Mo Glover has also transferred to the team from London Malory. Jennifer Taylor, a stong opposite has also come to us from Loughborough. We hope to see them both in action against Ashcome in the third round of the cup next week! |

Runners Up in EVA National Finals- Women's Shield |
Wolverhampton progressed to the Shield final after comfortably beating Cleobury Mortimer- who we had beaten recently in the league. This meant we travelled to Pond's Forge Stadium, Sheffield, in order to take part in the EVA National Finals, Tonbridge being our opponents. The match started well with Wolverhampton winning the first set 25-21. However we ended up taking the runners up trophy as Tonbridge took the match 3-1. However Kerri Olding won the MVP award, judged to be the best player by EVA officials. The celebrity status (well almost!) was also enjoyed by all! |
