This is the story so far of Tyler Messenger as told by me, his mother.
From the moment the I discovered I was having Tyler I was having problems. I had continuous bleeding and several threatened miscarriages. At 21 weeks I went into preterm labour and was admitted to the local hospital for observation. WItihin 48 hours my labour had progressed and I began to bleed again so the doctors started a drip and arranged for me to be transferred to the Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane where there were intensive care facilities.
My labour was stopped for the time being and I was told I would be staying in hospital until the baby was born.
I managed to hold on for another 9 weeks, when i had several complications including bleeding, contractions, and thinning of the lining of the stomach. Therefore I was booked into surgery for the following day . I was 30 weeks pregnant.
The c-section went well and Tyler was brought into the world weighing 3lbs 10ozs, which was a good size. His apgar scores were 10 and 10 and it was decided to put him on CPAP which to us was great news considering we were told he would probably need ventilation. |
