Joan's Wood Carvings Gourd Art & Origami THE ARTIST

Joan was born in Idaho and lived in 5 states before settling in the San Francisco Bay Area of California. She has 6 children, 11 grand-children, and 8 great-grand-children. Currently retired, a lot of volunteer work goes on, as well as enjoying an exciting home based-business. Joan delights in making things from nature, speciailizing in wood and gourds, but also creates a diversity of other interesting art forms. All steps of the art work are designed by Joan. This includes: Original designs, transferring to the medium used, forming the art piece, and final finishing. Depending on the size and detail, from 5 to 40 hours are devoted to each item.
