| Canine Good Citizen (CGC) is an AKC title and Therapy Dog (TDI) is offered through Therapy Dogs International. These titles are acquired by a dog and handler passing the respective tests for each title. These tests consist of many exercises that demonstrate confidence and control. At check-in for these tests and before beginning the test, the owner must present a current rabies certificate and any other state or locally required inoculation certificates and licenses. For the CGC test there is no age limit but the dog must have good social manners. TDI does require that dogs be at least 1 year of age to take this test.
