WPDL Rule change!!!
ARTICLE IV - TEAM PROFILE
Your roster MUST be submitted to the league upon sign-ups. This is the roster that you will play with. If you wish to add a player prior to the season or during the season you must request the add-on in writing one week ahead of time. Then once the league reviews the player and determines if they belong in the league you requested, permission will be granted or denied on the night before the match. If this means you must play short because a player didn't come then so be it. We suggest you use the roster guidelines to your advantage by making sure you have enough players or subs ready to play in the event of a player not showing up. Or get more reliable players.
If an illegal player is used, meaning one not submitted on the roster at signups, the points will be stripped and returned to the opponent. No questions asked.
This rule will prevent teams from adding players on the night of a match that do not belong in that league.
Submitted rosters will be reviewed and any problems will be brought to the attention of the captain.
If a roster is not submitted, the team will still be accepted and last season's roster will be reviewed or the team will be placed in a league that best suites it's skill level. If the team has never played before and no names are submitted, the team will not be accepted and the money returned.
Basically teams need to get their stuff together and get players to commit and just know what's going on with their teams. Competitive balance is the goal.
D) Team rosters may be added to anytime during the season (one week in advance by written method only((email okay)) - none accepted by phone call, until week 7, then no changes allowed. Once 12 names have been used in a season, you may not “drop” a player in favor of another player. Only 12 players may be used in a particular season. Total.
E) Any player who is eliminated from a team's roster, for any reason, who has played in at least one of the season's matches will be ineligible to re-register with another team until a new season begins. (The Committee reserves the right to make exceptions in special situations. Teams must check with the Secretary at least 1 week before adding the player)
G) Roster management: When making up your roster, keep in mind that often the same person shows up on more than one roster. The first team that such a person actually plays a game for owns that players rights, thus removing him from any other rosters he may be listed on. Writing a name down does not guarantee you the player, playing for your team does. Keep this in mind as some players float from bar to bar and may not tell you they have played previously for somebody else. Ask, you still face the penalty.
