| 1730. JACOB CUSHING |
| Sex: M
Birth: 17 February 1730 in Shrewsbury, Worcester, Massachusetts Death: 18 January 1809 in Waltham, Middlesex, Massachusetts Education: Graduated from Harvard College in 1748 Jacob was elected Minister of Waltham, 27 Jul, 1752, and ordained, 22 Nov., 1752. He was remarkable for his talent of prudently managing affairs, both temporal and spiritual. He was accurate and methodical in all he did. He kept an accurate account of the deaths happening in Waltham for 56 years, 1752-1809. "His whole life furnished his parishioners no occasion for uneasiness or complaint. He died after a short illness of a day or two in the 79th year of his age, and 57th of his ministry. He had enjoyed through life an uncommon stock of health - had preached at Weston in Sabbath before his death with unabated vigor. He was venerable for years and piety, his praise was in all the churches, and as a just tribute to his worth as a divine and the dignity of his character, in 1806, the degree of D.D. was conferred upon him by the University of Cambridge".
