Massachusetts is in a state,
As objections are being aired.
Australian men can have a "mate"
Of the same sex, but they’re not paired.

Same sex marriage is all the rage -
Lesbians and gays seek their rights.
For "straights", this is hard to engage,
Taking "outrageous" to new heights.

Homosexuals push their views,
While objectors complain till hoarse.
The next thing we’ll see in the news,
Will be the first same sex divorce.

Or can they simply walk away,
With no need for an attorney,
And find someone else who is gay,
To partner with through life’s journey?

Of course, it’s about benefits,
Like health insurance and tax breaks.
What if a pair of "straights" commits,
For those reasons for the same stakes?

Now, it certainly seems to me
That its become open season,
A couple, any pair can be,
For that same financial reason.

So, waste no time, straight guys and gals -
Justice for you is overdue.
Though platonic, wed same sex pals,
For the benefits you’ll accrue.
