Wet Cat Thoughts
Rain sparkles like crystals
The windows are adorned.
Thunder cracks as shooting pistols
Clouds the sun have scorned.
Gray the land of my latitude
Trees and bush whip and sway,
Melancholy now my attitude
This time of Wellingtons at play.
Streets awash cascading
Ditches filled as samovars.
Muddy waters speedy spating
Water slides off passing cars.
Water is everywhere
Downspouts overflow,
Copious cataracts fare
Gravity fed to earth below.
Indoor incarceration
This storm front darkly sits
As my spirit’s protestations
Like a cat hisses and spits.
