TRAVELIN' |
By now you may have guessed that I love motorcycles. But this page is about motorcycle riding. I like to look at the high dollar custom 'choppers' but bikes are for riding. This page currently has photos of some of my rides. The cost of gas, and a few other factors made it necessary to cancel the long awaited trip to Canada for the time being. But in 2005 I did slap some paint and plastic on my KLR 650 and rode it to Colorado for the 30th running of the Colorado 500 Invitational Charity Dirt Bike Ride. And that ride is in the books. In 2006 I drove a chase truck. Check out a few photos. My 2006 rides were all domestic: Red River, NM and two trips to Colorado, one by FJR and one by K1200LT. I really hate to say it but the FJR is my favorite of the two for extended traveling. In 2007, I trailered my DR350 to Colorado for the 500, spent most of my time kicking it. No more, now I have E-start on my DR350SE. Texas Chuck and I also hit the Barber Museum in 2007, see photos here. The 2008 ride was on the FJR to Colorado and the canyon roads of the west slope.

This is a GREAT road. It is the access to the ski area at Ruidoso, New Mexico. |

This was my trusty '98 KLR 650. I sold it to a friend's brother (he loves it) and bought a black '07 with 1400 miles. Picture to come. |

When I lived in Arizona, Chuck Henderson and I would meet in or near Ruidoso for spring riding. This photo was taken at Sunspot, a solar observatory not far from Cloudcroft, New Mexico. A very interesting place. This was Chuck's old ST, he bought it to keep up with me when I had my first FJ1100! He now has an ST1300 to keep up with the FJR! |

I love this photo! It was taken in the hills above Dolores, Colorado where Chuck Smith, Skipper Brown and I camped on the way to the Paonia Rally one year. |
