2002 Asian Games, Women's Team Finals Summary, October 2nd, 2002
Thanks to samkov, who provided a summary for the women's team finals at the 2002 Asian Games.
Floor
To ensure a gold medal, all the Chinese downgraded their difficulties: Kang Xin did not mount with a double layout; Huang Jing dismounted with a double twist and did not do a half-in-half-out. Other than Zhang Nan, most team members had questionable dance elements. This makes most SV's around 9.6 for the Chinese.
Although Huang Jing did not qualify as the top 2 finalists for China, she will likely compete in the event finals, to substitute either Zhang Nan, or more likely, Kang Xin.
Sun Xiao Jiao, who started this event for China fell on her full-in mount. Liu Wei, the last competitor, fell on her dismount. The Chinese coach Lu thinks that the Korean floor mat is quite soft. Both Sun and Liu are not as light-weighted as other juniors, and had difficulties of bouncing on floor.

Vault
An excellent rotation for China. All vaults were successful. Again, vault specialist Huang Jing did not finish as the top 2 Chinese finalists. Both Kang Xin and Liu Wei finished ahead of her.
Huang Jing seemed to have landed a DTY outside the lines and received a 0.2 deductions.
Bars
The Chinese did not have outstanding low bar combo's, as their junior members. Both Sun Xiao Jiao and Chen Miao Jie did a Kim pirouette + Tkatchev (D+D).
Kang Xin started on the low bar, did an endo + toe-on shoot (D+C) to high bar, and had a Ma pirouette + Tkatchev (D+D) on high bar. She did not do her new dismount (Muchina with an extra salto), but opted to do a Muchina (D). Seems like the Chinese federation did not reward her for doing a super difficult dismount at the National Games. Nevertheless, Kang's SV on bars is a 9.8. If she gets credit for a super E for her own dismount, she would have a 10 SV on this apparatus.
Huang Jing showed a very simple bars routine and ended with a full twisting double layout. SV: 9.5
No obvious threat from other countries to threaten China on this event, except a Korean gymnast displayed an elegant overshoot half to handstand + Ma pirouette (D+D) combo on the low bar. Zhang Nan and Chen Miao Jie qualified for the event finals.
Beam
Sun Xiao Jiao, the assistant captain of the team, set up for her young teammates on all events except floor. She had a great start on beam and did very well. However, Kang Xin and Zhang Nan qualified ahead of Sun on this event. Kang Xin had a wobble on her wolf + tuck front (B+D) combo.
Huang Jing did a very difficult routine on beam, but had some problem connecting her combinations.
